A Brief Encounter, well about 20 minutes anyway!
Paul Winter, from Operation Joy, is always on the look out for people to speak with...
Paul picks up the story. As I settled into my seat on the train back from Manchester recently four people came and sat near me, and although I did not know them, I recognised that they were much like many of the individuals I meet on the streets. B started the conversation by saying how warm it was, so I offered some of the drinks I was carrying. We talked about the needs of people on the streets and B said that all she wanted was her children back.
She came and sat by me and asked me to pray with her.
The two men listened politely, whilst the other lady spoke of a tragedy in her life last year.
By the time the train had arrived in Bolton I was able to mention the coffee morning we have at church and invite them to it. I continue to remember these individuals in my prayers.
If you would like to support Paul in prayer for his work contact Dave or Janet at the office (0161 736 7959) for more information.
