It took time but finally they can say "A new home at last!"

Not everyone that Cath helps is homeless but they are all struggling with their housing situation.

Many of us will be aware of the amount of ‘stuff’ that a baby generates so imagine living in a small one bed flat and then having to stay there as the baby becomes a toddler. Think about the lack of space for playing, the inability to provide your child with their own bedroom where they can settle down to sleep at night. Think about the worries about safety, the lack of privacy for the parents, wondering if you can afford to rent something bigger when the cost of rent is going up and you will start to feel the desperation and hopelessness that can start to creep in

At Manchester City Mission we seek to support and encourage throughout this time and to source affordable housing.

For one family we have been supporting, good news has come at last. The housing association that we introduced them to has been able to offer them a two-bedroom house with a garden.

They are overjoyed and busy planning for the move!
