"A phenomenal morning today at Radcliffe Food Club!"
So messaged Paul Wright who heads up the Food Club at Bridge Community Church in Radcliffe.
A record 46 recorded member visits! That's nearly two-thirds of the members of the Radcliffe Food Club came in, with very busy times as they opened and shortly before closing! That's approximately 550 items of produce that have been provided into the homes of struggling families in Radcliffe in one day! Not only is that a great encouragement, but it gives us an idea of the work that goes on by volunteers behind the scenes sourcing produce for the Food Clubs, no wonder volunteering is such a positive experience for so many people!
You may remember a story last week about the report that Barry had received from the Food Club regarding the start of 2023. They certainly seem to have got momentum going with the members really valuing the Food Club.
You may remember that in the previous story they were hoping to open on an evening for those members who have difficulty getting to the club during the day. It's great to hear that the volunteers have stepped up and they have been able to open on Wednesday evenings now.
Barry can be contacted at Manchester City Mission (0161 736 7959) if you would like to discuss volunteering for one of the Nourish Food Clubs across the city, or are thinking about how one could be set up in your locality.
