Support for a lady who lights up the room...

Barry Matley, our Nourish Project Leader, has worked with churches to establish Nourish Food Clubs across Greater Manchester. Here he shares a story from the Food Club at Manna House in Bury.

The Food Club model shared with churches is designed to enable them to build relationships with members. It is great to hear from our partner churches as to how the Food Club is enabling them to provide support to individuals.

The leaders of the Food Club in Bury have shared the following story.

One of our members, L, is an asylum seeker who was expecting a baby.

Knowing how little money asylum seekers have we were able to collect together some baby basics such as nappies and wipes and she was so grateful for them.

Despite all the difficulties she is facing, with her wide smile and twinkling eyes, this lady lights up the room when she comes in and is so positive she makes all of us smile.

If you would like to discuss opening a Food Club at your church, phone the office on 0161 737 7959 and we will get Barry to call you back.
