She needed clarity…
As regular readers will know Ryan has been working hard in Ashton-U-Lyne at the new Drop-in at Infinity Initiative café. This week something great happened as Ryan was setting up, there was a young woman that arrived and came and sat down with Ryan and his volunteers.
Ryan began to set up and started asking the young lady who she was, then explaining who he was, Ryan invited the lady to stay as they were going to pray and read the bible. Ryan said “I opened up in prayer and then started to talk about faith and relationship with God and what that looks like. I asked the lady if she had a relationship with God and she said mainly with Allah but has dabbled in other faiths too”
The lady began asking Ryan lots and lots of questions about Jesus and about creation. Ryan and the team took time to explain about why Jesus died for us and took her to (Galatians 1:4) you could see that the lady’s persona changed when she realised that this God loves her that much that he died for her. Ryan talked about repentance (Acts 2:38). Ryan and the team then got stuck into the Bible reading that they had for that day. The lady continued to show great interest and asked more questions. As the study came to an end Ryan asked if she would like to know God for herself? He told her that she was only a prayer away and showed her that if she confesses with her mouth that the Lord Jesus and believes in her heart that God raised him from the dead. Then she will be saved (Romans 10:9) Ryan felt that she was ready to receive Christ as her Lord and saviour. Ryan lead her in a prayer of repentance, then prayed for her to be filled with the Holy Ghost. After he had finished the Lady said she felt amazing. She had come into the café feeling really down. Now she felt like a weight had been lifted off her, she felt like everything was going to be ok.
Ryan and the team spent a bit of time finding her a local church and was successful as there was one round the corner from where she lived. We will continue to support this lady through the Drop-in and keep you posted about how she does.
