Dear Friends

2022 has been yet another interesting year. Cost of living crises; war in Ukraine; economic turmoil; and a revolving door at number 10 have added to an already heightened sense of uncertainty following the pandemic.

All this adds to our stress levels. According to one report, 74% of people feel so stressed they have been overwhelmed or unable to cope.

Another report says that inpatient hospital admissions caused by stress-related illnesses in the UK cost around £8.13bn.

All this is to say that if you are feeling a bit wobbly, you are in good company.

At times of uncertainty it’s good to remind ourselves of our position in Christ. In his letter to the Colossians, Paul tells those who have received Christ that we can know a spiritual stability that comes from being ‘rooted and built up in him and established in the faith’ (Colossians 2:7).

• Rooted meaning constant and firmly fixed

• Built up as in being encouraged and strengthened in our faith

• Established meaning that we have been rendered constant and unwavering

As Christmas approaches, with all its added pressures, let’s make it our aim to take our stand on the solid and sure foundation of Jesus.
For those of you who don’t use email, please feel free to call the office and we will update you as best we can.

Thank you for all your support and encouragement.
