Dear Friends,

“and also for me…” (Ephesians 6:19 ESV)

We all love reading about the whole armour of God in Ephesians 6. The theme of the Christian warrior standing against the attacks of the evil one is something we can all identify with in a way that stirs our soul and emboldens us for the fight.

Like all soldiers in the theatre of war we need to stay alert. For the Christian soldier this means prayer in the Spirit, at all times and for all the saints! This is “big picture” prayer for the universal needs of the embattled church, as real and urgent today as it was then.

Then Paul drills down to his own needs; “and for me…” Paul knew that his effectiveness as a missionary was dependent on the prayers of other believers.

This call to prayer is something that we take seriously at MCM. Our team serve by going into some dark places. As well as entering into ‘respectable’ venues such as primary schools, we also go onto the streets and into prisons and brothels with the Gospel message of salvation. We engage with people at the point of their need, or questioning, through our food poverty project and resettlement services.

We really need you to respond to Paul’s call to prayer for our Gospel endeavours and, in turn, we want you to be well informed about our prayer needs. To this end we are asking you to sign up to receive a regular prayer email. We promise not to bombard you with information or requests for money. All we ask is that you spend a little time once a month praying for our team and those they are reaching out to.

Please fill in the enclosed form and return it to the MCM office using the pre-paid envelope. Once you have been added to our list, and become part of our prayer team you will start getting essential ‘off the press’ information that can fuel your prayers.

For those of you who don’t use email, please feel free to call the office (0161 736 7959) and we will update you as best we can.

Thank you for all your support and encouragement.
