Thank you for taking the time to read not only this post but, more importantly, our most recent edition of Clear Call.

We know that, as a Christian, there are countless demands for your attention; many organisations want to tell you about the great work they are doing and I suppose this raises the question, ‘Why Manchester City Mission?’ Why support Manchester City Mission when there are so many other organisations to choose from?

Firstly: MCM has been taking the Gospel to the people of Greater Manchester for over 185 years and, while this fact speaks more about God’s faithfulness than our survival skills, it also demonstrates MCM’s historic commitment to our region.

Secondly: We don’t do gimmicks. The method always matches the message. The Gospel is a call to repentance, a serious matter that should not be watered down. Our method is simple; we meet people at the point of their need with acts of compassion and the greatest message of hope.

Thirdly: There is so much more for us to do; more effective ministries and projects to be launched. Our Groundbreakers primary schools project has the potential to be replicated, with a specialist worker in every borough of the County. Nourish Food Clubs are expanding at an amazing rate due to the great need for food security. There are many more homeless and vulnerably housed people to reach and more prisons to visit. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a ministry that could help churches reach their Muslim neighbours?

We may dream big dreams, but none of our work would even be possible without discerning fellow workers and partners like you.

I never tire of saying that God’s faithfulness is very often manifested though the faithful generosity of his people.
