When volunteering at Nourish she felt closer to God...

Ryan serves in our Operation Joy project and has continued as the resident evangelist at the Nourish Food Club now it has moved to St Thomas' Pendleton church. Recently Ryan told us how he had been witnessing to one of the volunteers about the love of Jesus Christ, this week she gave her life to Jesus.

Ryan tells the story;

A few weeks ago Barry, the leader of the Nourish project introduced me to Peter who had given his life to Christ some time ago. Peter felt that God had called him to help in the Food Club and has since fitted in really well.

Recently his wonderful wife joined him and they both now serve in the Nourish project together.

I have been having chats with them both about God and how He has a plan and a purpose for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11), wanting a relationship where we are His sons and daughters (2 Corinthians 6:18). The chats have continued for a few weeks with them both, together and separate.

Last week as I was getting set up in the Food Club, Peter's wife, Philomena, approached me saying that she feels like she is getting closer to God every time she comes to Food Club. I moved the conversation on to discussing what it means to receive Jesus as your Lord and saviour.

It was very apparent that she was ready to receive Jesus. I lead her in a prayer of repentance and prayed for her to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and as she received Jesus it was an amazing moment.

I gave her a Bible and suggested she read Johns Gospel to start with.

As you can imagine her husband Pete was over the moon. He has since said that he is going to find them a church that they can both go to and enjoy.
