“Holy Spirit please come and cool me down.”

Talking about our faith with those we meet, prepares them to step out in faith for themselves.

Nick tells us about one of his clients.

During one of my New Life Group sessions at HMP Forest Bank one of the inmates attending shared this short, but remarkable story with me. He said one evening he was in bed in his cell and he felt himself overheating. It was a very warm night. The air was stagnant and the heat was oppressive. As he lay there he became overwhelmed and began to panic because there was no way of finding respite.

He had been attending chapel and had heard certain things about Christianity. He hadn't yet given his heart to the Lord, nevertheless, he cried out to God and found himself praying “Holy Spirit please come and cool me down.” He told me that within minutes he felt a gentle, breeze blowing over him and he began to cool down. His panic subsided and he drifted off to a good night's sleep!

Later that week he did in fact give his life to Jesus along with two others.
