Having come to serve a volunteer choose to follow the Servant King.
Ryan from Operation Joy is our resident Evangelist, for our Nourish Family Food Fayre project, at our main building in Salford. This week Ryan one of the Nourish volunteers volunteers helped him on the front of house.
Ryan had not spoken with R before and when it quietened down a bit struck up a conversation with her.
Ryan then took time to explain the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). He went on to explain about the position of the heart and how for every bad thing we have done there is a consequence. Ryan also talked about there being two types of sorrow, a worldly sorry and a Godly sorrow (2 Corinthians 7:10).
It was clear as they spoke that R was ready to receive Jesus as her Lord and saviour, and Ryan led her in a prayer of repentance and then prayed for her to be filled with the Holy Spirit. It was a great moment and Ryan was able to explain how there is a celebration in heaven when a sinner repents.
R continues to volunteer at the Nourish Food Club and Ryan has invited her to church as she lives close to the church Ryan goes too.
Ryan will continue to provide support on her journey, as we believe in standing with people and supporting them in any way we can.
Perhaps you would like to join R as a Nourish Food Club volunteer if so contact Dave or Janet in the office.
