Life Saver

Barry tells us about a Food Club member from Spruce Court.

We have recently had a new member come to our satellite flats project in Spruce Court.

The lady is from an ethnic background with 3 young children, who she brings to the Food Club. I believe she is still waiting to hear about Universal Credit and when she came, was so thrilled with the help she received that she has been to the Windsor Centre club at every opportunity. She is really grateful and we have also been able to set her up with the 'Stork table' in the food club, which is providing help with nappies etc for the youngest. We are now encouraging her to receive even more support from our Narrowgate hub.

On speaking to her yesterday afternoon, she said to me. 'Thank you for running the food club, it is a life saver'.
