From client to volunteer
Great things have been happening at the Operation Joy Drop-In in Oldham. Ryan tells us how two of the clients are moving on to be volunteers.
Operation Joy team member Ryan says, “We have been planning many great things for next year, one of which is our Working with HoPe training, this is a course for volunteers to attend that are interested in helping those experiencing homelessness.”
Two men who have been using the drop-in, one of them has come through rehabilitation, have signed up to become volunteers for Operation Joy. One of our new volunteers says, “I just want to help people experiencing homelessness, show them there is another way, and that they don’t have to struggle on their own.”
Ryan said, “This is a great moment for us as we are really making an impact in Oldham. People that are using the drop-in are seeing their lives transformed and now they are making a difference in other people’s lives”.
