Lighthouse Community Trust put on fun day for Brookhouse Food Club members!

Councillor Gina Reynolds, Ceremonial Mayor of the City of Salford 2023 to 2024, opened the Lighthouse Community Trust Fund Day at the Brookhouse Centre that took place at the end of May.

Around 60 to 70 people attended the Fund Day with 27 Food Club shops completed, 8 of these were non-members who were invited to complete a shop. The Food Club hope that they will sign up as members in due course. One lady even completed a shop and went got her friend to join in. Another lady her the 'buzz' and wondered in to see what was happening.

There was also a prayer wall and the gospel was preached, people were invited to release balloons symbolically to show letting go of worries, financial fears, past hurt, anger, abuse, pain, addiction etc.

The organisers were very pleased with how the day went.

This was organised by the volunteers who run the Food Club and Lighthouse Community Trust, individually it can be diffixcult to imagine how we can make a difference in people's lives but together we can make an impact. Manchester City Mission has a number of projects who are looking for support, visit our website to see how you can make a difference by joining with others.
