Getting to know people is all part of what our missionaries do...

Paul Winter, a member of the Operation Joy team, tells us how simply getting to know information about people on the streets is an important step towards sharing the Gospel.

J has shown little interest in spiritual things, so my relationship with her has grown in other ways. Here are some of the things I know about her: Her birthday falls on the same day as my mother's did; she has a favourite puzzle book; and she likes Oreo chocolate. I was in a supermarket one day in Manchester and I saw some Oreo doughnuts. I knew if I found J that day she would really appreciate them. As I made my way to one of her usual haunts I met J's partner, and he told me exactly where J was sleeping rough, a good distance away from where I would normally find her. The doughnuts and puzzle magazine were appreciated. As J spoke with me she asked me how my wife was. With that Angie (my wife) called me and was able to briefly speak to J directly. Before leaving I told J we would be praying for her.
