It's not what's on the outside that matters...

When Groundbreakers deliver a Diary of Disciple workshop in a school they leave a copy of the full Luke's Gospel book for the class or school library. This week Debs found out just how worthwhile that simple gesture is...

A young boy was reading the Diary of a Disciple book, based on Luke's gospel, before a Groundbreakers' Lunch Club was about to start. He beckoned Debs over and said he'd read something that was amazing and still true today. He pointed to a passage and read:

"Jesus said to the Pharisee ' It's not what's on the outside that matters, you know. You people wash all your dishes, cups, pots and pans, but on the inside you're still dirty. You're greedy and mean. Don't you realise that God can see what's on the inside'

The boy went on to say that it's exactly the same for us today. God can see what's on the inside of us and what we think and how we treat people is more important than what we look like on the outside. The wisdom of the young!!
