Journeying together

Peter was referred onto Ryan (Operation Joy) by Michelle (Restart).

Ryan met with Peter in Manchester City Centre and they talked for a while and prayed. Peter agreed to start a ‘Keys to Freedom’ course so they agreed to meet up the following week.

On the second visit, the discussion was based on Peter’s view of God and the relationship that Peter could have with Him. Peter had been brought up in the Catholic faith, so he had some background knowledge of faith.

Ryan took Peter to the scriptures, relating that we have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory; that God sent his son to die for our sins and that if we believe in Him we shall not perish but have eternal life with him. Ryan also explained that because Jesus lives we can have a new life. The discussion continued about how we are saved by faith; how we no longer live for ourselves, but for Jesus, and how we can talk to Jesus as if we were talking to a friend.

Peter said that he, too, wanted to make a commitment and receive Jesus as his Lord and savior so Ryan lead him in a prayer of repentance. Peter began to weep as Ryan prayed for him to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Peter is now meeting with Ryan, who is supporting him on his journey with Jesus, on a regular basis.
