Freedom

A man who came seeking help as he struggled with his finances, finds faith following the Keys to Freedom course. “I need God in my life” he says.

Manchester City Mission staff run various courses, including Keys to Freedom. Ryan, from Operation Joy, spoke recently about taking a client, ‘M’, through this course.

‘M’ was introduced to Manchester City Mission because he was struggling financially. Ryan explained how we can access funds through Acts 435 and ‘M’ agreed to a request being made. Later ‘M’ asked if we could continue to support him, it was then that Ryan explained the Keys to Freedom programme and suggested that he take ‘M’ through the course.

‘M’ started the course and had lots of questions, ‘M’ had no spiritual belief and struggled with the concept of an all-knowing and powerful God. As the weeks went on ‘M’ became more receptive as Ryan explained how he read the Bible with him and prayed.

The fourth session covers forgiveness, Ryan discussed the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32) and other scriptures concerning the need for repentance with ‘M’.

‘M’ recognised the need for God in his life and that things needed to change. Ryan spoke of how he led ‘M’ in a prayer of repentance and is now supporting him on his new journey.
