A local Church supports Chaplaincy at HMP Forest Bank
From time to time HMP Forest Bank chaplaincy team invite outside ministries in to help conduct the Sunday morning service.
This is always welcome as it provides a little more variety, giving the attending prisoners the chance to hear the testimonies of different Christians and experience varied approaches to sharing the gospel.
Just recently we had a team in from the Lighthouse Church in Eccles. This was particularly interesting for me because one of the members of their team is my colleague from MCM Barry Mately. He rang me following their visit to say that they had had an enthusiastic response from the prisoners and as we did the rounds during the following week we found that those who had attended had indeed really appreciated their visit.
Please pray for all those prisoners who attend the chapel services, that they may truly come to a saving knowledge of Christ and be strengthened and blessed in their Christian walk after their release. Pray also that they find good, Bible-believing churches with mature Christians who can give them on-going support.
