Meeting spiritual needs as well as being a friendly face.

Paul Winter, from our Operation Joy, has years of experience getting alongside the street community. Often, he is a friendly face with bag of helpful items to give away if appropriate, but last week he went away and found something specific that a woman he knows needed urgently.

Paul picks up the story;

B has been a regular contact of mine for several years and has occasionally shown some interest in spiritual things.

Recently she showed me a cross and chain that a passer-by had given her as she sat in her usual place with a begging pot. B then told me that she had been asking some individuals if they could get her a Bible and she explained that in just a few days she was due to go into rehab, so she needed it by then. I told her to leave it to me and later the same day I found her again and passed on an appropriate Bible to her.

B was nearly in tears as she opened it.

I will be praying that this is a real help to her as she goes to rehab.

If you would like to pray specifically for the work of Operation Joy please contact Janet or Dave in the office (0161 736 7959).
