Even the rail strikes couldn't get in the way of Bible being delivered for a young boy!

If Paul says he'll get something for a member of the street community, he doesn't let anything get in the way...

I first met M selling the Big Issue in January and she spoke about the need of getting a Bible for her son. I saw her for a second time this month when I was able to find out more about the circumstances. M is Romanian but her son, aged 11, wanted an English Bible. The time that M spends out on the street is limited by back pain and she explained when she might next be on her usual corner, which was a Saturday, a day I am rarely in Manchester. Nevertheless, it worked out that I would be able to try and find her, so long as I could beat the train strike. I visited our local Christian bookshop on the Friday morning and found exactly the sort of children's Bible I was looking for. 'Well timed', said the person serving me, 'that only came in this morning'. The following day I got to Manchester on the bus and found M straight away.

Mission accomplished!
