Music while you wait
People coming to shop at our community food club have been arriving a little early and gathering at the door. Nick Stirling, our Chaplain, explains how he used the time with the customers.
Last Thursday (8th July) there was a gathering of around twenty customers waiting for the community food club, so I took the opportunity to share the gospel with them as they waited. I arranged some chairs and took my guitar and sang for them.
I sang a song from Psalm 3 that I often used in evening devotions when the Narrowgate shelter was open. I explained briefly the situation David faced when he wrote it and I encouraged the listeners to cry out to the Lord themselves when in difficulties. Finally, I gave my testimony explaining how I personally came to Christ inviting them to do the same.
All of this was well received by those waiting and helped to pass the time for them. They may have seen this as mere entertainment but they actually came under the sound of the gospel and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
