New Opportunity for Prison Ministry
Since the closure last year of the Narrowgate Homeless Shelter, the team at Manchester City Mission has been prayerfully exploring other avenues of ministry, one of which is prison chaplaincy. Prison chaplains work with inmates inside the prisons and also seek to help them find support on the outside upon their release. Our chaplain Nick Stirling has acquired full H M Government clearance to work in all categories of prison (A to D) and is currently coming alongside Prison Chaplain David Corke at HMP Buckley Hall in Rochdale. In addition, we can also offer much needed help to ex-offenders through the Narrowgate Support Hub as they are re-introduced into society. We are hope we will soon be able to engage in ministry in other prisons across Greater Manchester.
