Operation Joy Exists in the Hope That…

A Funeral is Attended.

One of my street contacts, N, sadly had to tell me of her daughter's death recently and that she expected that the funeral would be at the end of March. As I went into town this week, I saw N as I got off the bus. She told me that the funeral date had changed and that it was taking place the following day. Having arrived at the cemetery and seeing the procession arrive I noticed that N was missing. My wife Angie and I were able to speak to N's mother, and she told us that N couldn't face being there. Then, despite rain and wind N appeared and was welcomed by the family. The funeral was very simple at the grave side. Operation Joy exists in the hope that people will be able to get to funerals and it was great to witness N's arrival despite the odds against it. N was grateful of a lift back into town afterwards. Words are not always needed on occasions like this.
