Peace for a family member
Ryan was on his way home from Manchester City Mission one night and decided to call at his mum’s to see how she was doing, and also to give her support as she is a new Christian.
When Ryan arrived at his mum’s, his sister Jayne had dropped in, she was very upset and distressed. As Ryan began to speak to her, he felt God nudging him to share the Gospel. His sister started to say how she was struggling with unforgiveness, Ryan then saw an opening, he was able to share how unforgiveness will poison your body and do nothing to the person you haven’t forgiven. Ryan began to share the Gospel, and read Matthew 6:14-15 NKJV
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Ryan then went on to share from Romans 3:23; that we have all fallen short of God's glory, and we have all sinned.
Jayne then began to get upset. She asked, “Why is this making me cry?” Ryan told her that God was at work. He then went to different scriptures explaining the cross, and repentance, and by this time Jayne was crying her heart out.
Ryan then led her in a prayer of repentance, and she gave her heart to the Lord, she said “I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and I feel peace, a real sense of peace,” Ryan then explained that there is a peace that surpasses all understanding that comes from God.
Ryan gave her a Bible and told her to start reading the Gospels, to get to know who Jesus is, Ryan has checked in on her at various stages and says she is still reading the Bible and is interested in starting to come to church. Ryan has now invited her to a Bible group that he runs with his wife, Kelkina.
Jayne is much more positive and seems to be growing in her walk with Jesus.
