Tuesdays Together explore the topsy-turvy world of the Beatitudes together this term...

"Blessed are the peacemakers", Jesus said. Now that's an interesting thought when talking with children!

Every Tuesday at 7pm in St Thomas' Church, Delph, Mary and Debs from Groundbreakers run a club, Tuesdays Together, for children aged 7-11. They are currently studying the Beatitudes and thinking about what they mean and how they should affect the way we live.

Last Tuesday we looked at "Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." The children were open and honest about times when they were definitely NOT peacemakers and we discussed how we should and could be peacemakers in everyday situations.

One child later told Debs that "We need to say sorry to God when we've messed up and then we can have peace with God".

Exactly!

As part of the session, the children made hearts of peace with Matthew 5:9 on them. They took them home at the end of the evening to hang up in their homes as a reminder to be peacemakers.
