A conversation with Action Together reinforces the quality of the work of Operation Joy...

In 1 Peter 2 we find Peter encouraging us to "Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority...", Action Together is the VCFSE support and funding portal working in Oldham, Tameside and Rochdale council areas.

Funding from Action Together during the Covid Pandemic was dependent on supporting the government messaging to vulnerable people. Peter goes on in his epistle to say "For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people."

Ryan who serves in our Operation Joy project in Oldham Town Centre has been awarded £2000 from Oldham Action Together this was due to how hard he worked through the Covid pandemic with homeless men.

Ryan tells the story;

“I was contacted last week by Oldham Action Together to say they would like to give us £2000. We had worked hard to get the information out about Covid and there are still bad flu viruses going around. They asked us to help get the information out there and keep the vulnerable clients that we work with safe.”

Ryan says, "When things like this happen it just shows and validates that we are doing a good job and also that strong relationships with funders are being built. We would just like to thank Oldham and Tameside Action Together for all the support that they have given us. If it wasn’t for these organisations, then we wouldn’t be able to get the Good News of Jesus Christ out there and help the people that we help week in week out. Again thank you for all your support."
