Nick and Cath lead Sunday Service at HMP Buckley Hall
Last Sunday I had the rare and wonderful opportunity to minister in HMP Buckley Hall with my wife Cath.
We had been asked to speak and share at the “Open Door” Sunday afternoon service in the chapel. This is a monthly event to which prisoners of all Christian persuasions are invited.
I was given clearance to bring my guitar in and after we had partaken of Communion with everyone, led by the Church of England Chaplain, we were then given 30 minutes or so to sing, testify and share from God's Word. Finally, we enjoyed a time for tea, coffee and biscuits during which we engaged further with prisoners one to one.
When I went back into the prison the following day (it being my usual Monday visit) I had some very positive feedback. We had apparently been a great encouragement to prisoners and chaplaincy alike. Please continue to pray for those prisoners to whom we minister. Many are genuine believers and are serious about turning their lives around.
