The Nourish Food Club is Providing More Than Just Food.

Part 3: : Support Available in Our Food Clubs…

It was great to meet up with Janet from the Growth Company. Janet explained the programme - Support to Succeed.

“Support to Succeed is available to people aged 19+ who are unemployed and looking to take their next steps. We will work with each individual at their own pace towards whatever their personal goals are, so it’s a wonderful programme to support those people who might want to start engaging with something but aren’t sure where to start.”

Janet has already sat in with some of our members on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays at the Food Clubs in ST Thomas's and Spruce Court and we are really pleased to have them helping our members as they are able.

This is a great compliment to the work that Pendleton Together Housing is carrying out in our Food Clubs with employment and housing specialist Sarah.

Some of the courses and interventions available from Support to Succeed are:

  • Communication skills
  • Energy costs and household budgets
  • Life skills (including time management, nutrition and cooking, self-care, problem-solving)
  • Digital skills
  • Confidence & motivation (including recognising strengths and resilience)
  • Employability (how to complete professional applications and CV writing, employer expectations, right to work documents)
  • Nature wellbeing (one based around ecology and one around sustainability covering upcycling etc.)
  • Sports and physical activity (including gym access and personal trainers)
