The small things matter

Remembering birthdays is an important part of Operation Joy.

Around this weekend there are at least four birthdays that I know of among the Street Population. I saw J during the week, and today I saw K and both really appreciated the small gift and card passed on to them. As I returned to the car I knew that L might be around, but initially there was no sign of her. I decided to walk around the block one more time and I prayed that I would see her. As I returned there was L, so that made my day and possible hers as well. I wonder how L might react the next time I see her when I tell her what I prayed.
