Do not deprive the foreigner or the fatherless of justice...

As we remember that it is now a year since the war started in Ukraine, we think about those who have fled from their country and who have found homes here in the UK.

We are particularly praying for the family that we have been supporting who have been able to come to this country because of the generosity of their sponsor in providing a home and a sanctuary for them. We pray that they will know God’s peace and reassurance at this time.

We are conscious that for every family who is here in the UK, there are relatives and friends still in Ukraine who they are concerned about. Some are still trying to find sponsors and some have decided to stay but all are people like us who have families and friends who care about them.

We know that many are struggling at the moment with the cost of living in this country and we seek to support those that we come into contact with but the Bible is also very specific about us caring for the foreigner in our land. As we consider this anniversary, let us also consider if we can help in any way to support those who are living amongst us and who they also represent back home. (Deut. 24v 17-22)
