Consistent witness and prayer are seeds that can germinate and become unexpected salvation!
Ryan who serves on our Operation Joy project at the Oldham Drop-In was surprised last week when two people that have been using the service for over three months suddenly gave their lives to Christ.
Ryan tells the story. We have been reading the Bible with a couple for the last three months and you can really see that God is making changes in their lives, they would often make a comment about how their lives are changing.
One of our volunteers, Kelly came in and said that she really felt that there was going to be salvation in the Drop-In today and that God has put the couple on her heart. Kelly began witnessing to the couple and sharing her story about how God came into her life. The couple were gripped by what she was saying. Kelly then invited them both to receive Jesus as their Lord and saviour, there was no hesitation from either of them.
We are always careful to ensure people know what they are doing, you could see a change come about in them both as Kelly took them to key verses of scripture to show how, "faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God." and "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved." (Romans 10:9,17) You could see that they were ready to receive Jesus. Kelly lead them in a prayer of salvation and then prayed for them to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
It was a wonderful time, there was great joy in the Drop-In that day”
Ryan and the team will ensure that they are established in a church and will continue to support them through the Drop-In.
