The mum of a volunteer comes to the Nourish Food Club and finds Jesus...

Regular readers will remember we told you about the young woman that came and used our Food Club. She received prayer and felt that her depression had left her. Then the following week, she gave her heart to the Lord and became a volunteer and was offered a job!

This week she brought her mum to use the Nourish Food Club but turned up early as she was due to volunteer.

Ryan who serves as part of the Nourish Food Club team, sat with D's mum and began to talk about what it means to have a relationship with God. She began to open up and talk about how she has lost her faith due to her going through a few tragedies.

Ryan began to speak to her about Gods love, and how He sent His son to die for our sins (John 3:16), Ryan then went on to explain how we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Feeling the presence of God, Ryan continued to explain the Gospel to her. As Ryan was explaining that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved (Romans 10:9) the lady said that she wanted to receive Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. Ryan led her in a prayer of repentance and she gave her heart to the Lord, Ryan continued to pray for her to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

She has been directed to a local church in Salford and given a Bible.

At Manchester City Mission we believe in standing with the person on their new journey and Ryan is looking forward to seeing her next time she is at the Nourish Food Club.
