Wonderful morning at the Duchy Road Travellers site.

Nourish and Operation Joy collaborate with Winners Chapel to reach out to local Travellers community

Dr Nelson from Winners Chapel delivered 23 grocery bags from the Chapel for all the residents at the Duchy site on Thursday 13th July.

Paul Winters and I went along to help introduce Winners and the grocery bags to the residents.

They were so grateful as many are going through a very difficult time with the cost of living crisis.

Tara who is the Salford Council worker assigned to helping with the education etc at the site said:

“… a huge thank you to Barry for organising the food bags this morning! They were a roaring success and everyone has expressed how grateful they are!”

Winners are now looking to supply the bags around once a month starting September.

Paul from Operation Joy has over 30 years experience visiting Travellers sites, and was able to interact with the residents using his knowledge of other sites from across the country where family members are staying.

He has already made arrangements to visit again soon.

We met a lady who has been a Christian for 35 years and witnesses faithfully to those on the site.

This is a great collaboration between MCM and Winners and a great example of what can happen when Mission and Church partner together for the Gospel.
