Narrowgate Next Stage Housing Knows; Home Is More Than A Roof Over Your head!

A place to heal…

At the end of last year Cath was asked to help a gentleman who was homeless and sofa surfing. He had become homeless following a relationship breakdown and his health had suffered due to the stress and the break up of his family.

Although he had applied for housing, his application was still being processed and he was stuck with seemingly no way forward.

As K was over 50, Cath applied for a place in over 50s accommodation. He was interviewed and offered a place just before Christmas. However, K has always tried to retain contact with his children and it came to light that he would be unable to have his son stay overnight. Despite the difficulty with his living arrangements, he turned the place down as it was more important to have family time than to have a place of his own.

In the New Year Cath continued to look, praying for a place together with another lady from a local church who is also supporting him. An over 50s flat was found where, because he has his own front door, K is allowed to have his family stay.

He has now moved in and is happy and at peace. The housing association have given him over and above what you might expect in the way of furniture and furnishings – he has really been blessed. Will you pray with us that K’s health issues will improve as he now has peace of mind and a place to heal?
