Read About The Experience Of An MCM Volunteer…
Volunteering - a two-way street!
Cath is feeling very blessed and happy to have the support of Laaya since the beginning of the year. Laaya has been volunteering with MCM, particularly helping with the Acts 435 requests.
Here are Laaya’s thoughts on the role.
My experience with Act 435 has been truly meaningful and something I will always value. I was drawn to this Christian organisation because of its mission to connect people in need with those who want to help, but what I found was much more than just a volunteering role. From the very beginning, the team in the office made me feel completely supported and welcomed; communicating with them has always been a pleasure. They guide me with patience and kindness, and I never felt uncomfortable or unsure—being around them feels like I’ve known them for years. Through this work, I’ve had the privilege of meeting people from many different backgrounds, cultures, religions, and accents, each with their own story. These encounters have opened my eyes, taught me so much, and given me a sense of empathy.
Helping others through Act 435 gives me a strong feeling of purpose and usefulness, knowing that even small acts of support can make a real difference in someone’s life. It has been emotional, inspiring, and humbling, and I would wholeheartedly recommend volunteering with Act 435 to anyone who wants to be part of something compassionate, genuine, and life‑changing.
As the Bible says, ‘give and it will be given to you, pressed down, shaken together and running over’. We see volunteering as something we give but it’s also a way that we receive- it’s a 2-way street.
