The Nourish Food Club is providing more than just food.
Part 2: Making Positive Impacts.
Read what some of our members have to say about how using the food club has positively impacted their lives.
“The Food Club has been a lifeline, especially as I need a special (expensive) diet for medical reasons and I am on a very low income”.
We were able to help deliver groceries to this lady when she was self-isolating and housebound. She went on to say…
“Without the food club I would probably be dead. I am scared that without this Food Club I will not be able to get through this winter with both ‘heating and eating’, which will make my health problems worse. Thanks for the Food Club and all your good work. I have recommended it to local friends”.
A lady struggling with cancer said:
“I feel better financially and mentally. It has helped loads. I love it and have been able to meet up with friends. The staff are great, I always recommend it. I think the place is amazing. I love to come and chat”.
Another one of our members struggling with health problems told us:
“Due to unavoidable circumstances I had to move house. Also, being poorly, I had to take leave - so no salary. The Food Club was God sent. I never have to worry now about food on my plate. Thank you MCM!”
Regarding help one stated…
“On jobseekers, this has been a real help to me”.
Someone else said…
“I had the opportunity to get relevant info with regards to a monetary problem, the problem has gone”.
The Food Club is for anyone in need….
“I do work, but still struggle with money. The Food Club has made a massive difference to me and my family. It has made me feel better and valued. The Food Club has improved my mental health as I don’t have to worry as much about food costs etc”.
Other Food Club members told us…
1. “It changed my life’. It cheered me up giving me a community”.
2. “It has made a world of difference. Helped me sort my life out and stopped me worrying. Thank you to the people doing this, I would be distraught without it!”
3. “I have found help with feeling alone”.
4. “I have less worry”.
The volunteers and staff at the Food Club have said they feel honoured to be involved in a project that is helping so many people and has such a positive affect on so many lives.
