Truly Grateful!

Counting Our Blessings.

As I was setting up for an assembly in an Oldham school, a boy with additional needs came up to me and said, “I was inspired by your last speech,"

(he meant assembly). “You told us to look at the doughnut and not the hole and I did that. I went out for a meal with my mum and dad to a restaurant and we didn't get much food. I was a bit grumpy and then I remembered to look at the doughnut and not the hole and to be thankful that my mum and dad had bought me a meal!" WoW...

(My first assembly of the new school year had been about looking at the doughnut, i.e. at what we DO have and not the hole, i.e. what we DON'T have and about being grateful!!)

I was very encouraged because on the way to the assembly that morning I had been praying specifically about the harvest from these assemblies and that children would act on what they hear from the teachings of Jesus. Thank you, God!
