A Catch Up…

News Still Coming In From Before Christmas!

These are the highlights of the last food club session on Monday the 22nd of December before it closed for the Christmas holiday. It was our busiest session yet with a lot of generosity, many members were blessed and so were we.

The mentioned photos can be seen on the Nourish homepage.

Highlights part 1. Here is Chloe with us at Lidl, Eccles, first thing in the morning.
Chloe stepped in to try to fill some very big shoes of their staff member, Gemma, who has been ill for quite a while. Thankfully, Gemma, who has previously organised the collection, directly from the Lidl staff, for our Food Club for the last 5 years is now on the mend and expects to be back at Lidl in January.
So really grateful to Chloe and the Lidl team for their generous donations and looking forward to seeing Gemma soon.

Highlights part 2. About 11:30am, we were thrilled to have Oasis Church come and take our first Food Club short carol service alongside Janet. They sounded great and were really well received. Oasis Church Pastor Benson and wife Miya with son Dominic along with Evie have been helping volunteer with us for quite a few months and making a real difference. It was really great to see more of their congregation and so thankful of their wonderful support.

Highlights part 3. Really great to see Millie from the United Foundation, who works across community groups to help them. Millie links in to help with the Co-op Academy Swinton and brought a full car of cereals and washing powder, as well as clothing. Then a second car from the Academy would follow later. Just so great to see different groups really helping one another out and sharing all their surplus.
So much appreciated

Highlights part 4. Around 12pm. Me in the storage space in the church with just a small sample of toiletries brought in by Dawn from the Hygiene Bank. Regrettably, Dawn didn't feel up to being in the picture as she was suffering slightly with her cold . We could not get all the goods in the picture as we were still sorting the cereals etc out from Millie. But so grateful to Dawn and the Hygiene Bank who are coming very regularly to help our Food Club members.

Last but not least. Highlight part 5. Here is Charlotte at around 12:20pm, with the second carload from Swinton Co-op Academy. Absolutely full of more cereals and tins of beans and washing powder.
They invited me back to the Academy early this year as they still have more things they want to share. Can't wait!
Alongside Charlotte is our volunteer Mohammed who together with an amazing team of volunteers was helping take things into the Church. Was so good to see Mohammed in particular as he has been struggling for a while and has really made a difference for us.
The day finished a few hours later with mountains of toys, bread, fruit and veg and Christmas grocery parcels all given out to the largest number of members we have had in many months. All exhausted but thoroughly rejoicing in God's goodness.

Thank you everyone
