A Food Club Leader Gets A New Appointment…
God Lined It Up Perfectly!
Our food club leader, Simon, at the food club in Brookhouse Community Centre that MCM help set up and supports, has a new appointment.
Simon is just changing roles and will now be going into Forest Bank Prison as the Chaplain. Whilst he will be missed as the Food Club leader this is not a final goodbye!
Barry, the manager of the food clubs along with his wife Janet also spends time in Forest Bank with the ministry group Living Waters. Living Waters have been ministering in various locations, but particularly Forest Bank prison for several years. Simon and his wife Wendy have been fundamental to the group, particularly in Forest Bank over the last couple of years.
Inmates that are blessed through the Living Waters Group will now receive follow up pastoral care from Siman as he will be involved with group and have first hand knowledge of who to provide follow up care for when any responses to the Gospel are made.
Historically this has been awkward as the chaplains struggle to get round everyone through the week after the Sunday services and new disciples can end up falling through the gap. However, Simon will now be able to go in and minister with Living Waters as well as minister through the week in prison alongside Nick, the MCM prison chaplain who goes in on Wednesdays.
Simon will also have responsibility for helping the prisoners get the support they need after leaving Forest Bank and will be a part of the process of discipling from start to finish.
With so many responses each time a visit is made, it is thrilling to know that they will not be just numbers of hands raised but truly followed up as the individuals and precious souls they are.
Praise God for His perfect timing!
Please also pray for Roberto who is taking on Simon’s previous role as Food Club leader.
