Another Divine Appointment…

In The Food Club.

A lady came into St Thomas's Church when the food club was open on a Thursday.

She went into the Church to pray. She just felt she should go in, but did not know why. On coming into the foyer, Janet asked if there was anything she could pray for.

The lady responded positively and then told Janet that she was an alcoholic and all her family (her husband and two grown up children had addictions and all of them were going through the recovery stage.)

She believes God is trying to do something, as over a period of time in her life she feels she has had some kind of divine intervention. For instance, once she had been in hospital for alcoholism.

She was told that the hospital had a scorecard from 1 to 17 of what the outcome was likely to be. With 1 being the simplest case where you walk out the door the same day and 17 being not expected to make it. She had been assigned a score of 17 ! However, here she was and now believed God had a purpose in it all.

So Janet prayed for her and her family situation and then at the end shared a Gospel tract and asked if the lady would like to say the prayer to commit her life to Jesus.

The lady prayed the prayer and realised, this was the purpose she now had and went out changed.

As she lived a distance away there was no possibility of following up, but she had just felt led to come in.

A truly divine encounter.
