Friendship First Course...
Hosted by 7:9
Sarah enjoyed visiting a church in north Manchester to lead the Friendship First course. Although most of the ten or so who were gathered didn’t think they had much contact with Muslims, during the time it took to cover the four sessions, people found that God was giving them a new way of thinking about those in their city who follow Islam. Some had opportunities to share faith and even to pray with people they met.
This is some of the course feedback:
“thought provoking, as well as very practical”
“I learned the importance of shame and honour in Muslim communities.”
“I learned to ask God to increase my faith.”
“I have found the course so useful in thinking about how to reach the Muslim ladies at toddler group.”
Please pray that more churches will be open to learning about … Muslim culture and worldview; the basics of Islam; everyday Muslim people, and how to share the Good News.
Take a moment to read Romans 10:14-21. “...faith comes from hearing the message…”. Being among friends is a great pleasure, bringing comfort, joy and sometimes challenge! Is your church group willing to learn how to show Muslim neighbours’ true friendship and through this, the saving love of Jesus?
