Who’s In The Fire?
Recent Unrest – A testimony from 7:9.
Ali* hadn’t been sleeping well for weeks since his letter had arrived. When the day of his Home Office interview was finally here and he braced himself to relive the past traumas of leaving family, friends, job, property and personal papers under threat to his life. Although he was physically shaking, uppermost in his mind was his desire to tell of the great treasure that he had found that was worth the price he had paid, Jesus.
As he looked at the news of protests turning to riots across the UK, especially focussed on immigration buildings and legal representatives, he made his way towards the offices, asking the Lord to lift his eyes to Him - from where his help comes from. Many of his church family had sent messages to say that they were upholding him in prayer.
Sarah was not allowed to enter but God had provided unexpected blessings of a room to pray in a nearby church. After a couple of hours, Ali suddenly reappeared from his interview. Smiling broadly, he was overflowing with joy that he had felt heard by staff who cared.
Will he be given refuge in the UK? The outcome is yet unknown. That night, Sarah phoned to advise him to stay indoors - Ali prayed as he saw men walking past his window with backpacks carrying stones looking for a target.
Pray that those who hear this testimony who do not yet know Jesus will say like Nebuchadnezzar, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.” Daniel 3:28.
Thank God for His church which welcomes us all into his family so that we might build one another up in faith as we share our lives together. Thank God for the faithful supporters of MCM who enabled Sarah to be with Ali on this day.
