Christmas In Prison

A Catch Up With On The Wing…

Christmas is always a poignant time of year for those in prison. They are separated from family and think longingly of better Christmases gone by. Many will say that offenders have brought prison upon themselves, and they have to face the consequences of their actions. This is true, but there is still a need to treat them with dignity, and a necessity for an approach that fosters rehabilitation. We seek to bring a little normality into their lives as part of this process, by providing carol services and other Christmas events. We have been holding several such gatherings in the run up to this Christmas and they have been enthusiastically received and well attended.

We do, of course seek to use these times as opportunities to share the gospel. We take the men through the Christmas story with a view to leading them to salvation in Christ, and I recently had one inmate who attended my Bible group make a profession of faith as I shared who Jesus was (and is) from Isaiah 9:6-7.

Once again we thank all our supporters. You are the ones who enable us to keep ministering in this way. Please pray that this Christmas the Holy Spirit will be at work in men's hearts and that He will draw them to the Saviour.

Every blessing
