Iranian man comes to Christ in prison
Back in September a prison staff member made me aware of a young Persian man having difficulties registering his family and friends with the prison security. It was known that I speak a little Farsi, so of course I visited the man. ‘B’ recognised me from our church in Altringham where he’d attended a memorial service some time ago.
We soon got the bottom of the issue; in Persian/Iranian culture it is common to use two names, their family and regional name. ‘B’ had submitted the family name and the family and friends had submitted the regional name. Once contacted ‘B’s family and friends then submitted the family name and the prison security approved the visitors.
The following week I returned to Forest Bank where I met with ‘B’ who said, “I need you to instruct me in Christianity, I need a real Christian experience”. To the glory of God ‘B’ was brought to his salvation and accepted Jesus into his life.
Currently ‘B’ has leave to remain in UK and is on remand due to an unfortunate incident at his accommodation. ‘B’ has mental health issues related to his experiences in Iran and needs our prayers. Please pray that ‘B’ finds favour with the authorities, as he navigates the legal system and grows in faith as he walks with our Lord.
