Volunteer Opportunity...

Our New Family Hub.

Manchester City Mission has been asked to set up a Family Hub for parents/guardians of 0-5-year-olds running alongside our Food Club.

This would mean time when young families can come together for story time, an activity and snack time and would run after the general Food Club has closed. Members of the Family Hub would have exclusive access to the Food Club during this time.

Our Food Club members who meet the criteria will be welcome to join the Family Hub.

However, for this to go ahead we need volunteers.

Who do we need and what would you be doing?

2 or 3 reliable volunteers willing to come and dedicate two to two and a half hours a week to supervise the story time, activity and snack time.

This post requires a Level 2 or 3 in childcare and/or working in a nursery would be very helpful. It would also suit a student working toward a childcare qualification who needed a placement.

The children would be supervised by a parent/guardian and the activities would be co-ordinated by the volunteers and be age appropriate to the children.

Safeguarding and First Aid training will be given if needed and a DBS check would be required.

When?

It would be on either a Monday or Thursday afternoon depending on the volunteer’s availability. This Family Hub can only go ahead if we can attract the right volunteers.

If anyone is interested and would like to help MCM's outreach, please contact Barry via email at barry@manchestercitymission.org.uk or text 07847560325.
